Daisy shorts - Miss Selfridge

Daisy shorts

First things first, how cute are these shorts?! I genuinely think they are some of the prettiest shorts this summer, plus they're really comfy!

So for this summer I was looking for the perfect pair shorts that didn't show too much of my bum and weren't a weird longer length, and much to my happiness, I found these. They are black chiffon shorts (the comfy chiffon, not the scratchy type) with a daisy waistline and pocket detail. They cost me £32.00 from Miss Selfridge which I have to say I thought was quite expensive but I fell in love with them so needed them in my life!
they are uber comfy and go with pretty much any top as the daisies aren't very obvious with longer tops which i think is great!

They also have pockets too which was really handy for me on holiday as I could put money and my phone in my pocket and not worry about a bag!
These will definitely be a summer favourite of mine so make sure you have a look!

Tweet me at @BlogQueen13 with a photo of your favourite summer shorts and hopefully you'll all get some inspiration!p.s sorry I took me such a long time to blog again!x

Feather and Flask

So I recently came across these gorgeous Feather and Flask fascinators and thought I just HAD to tell you all about them.
The designer is Jillian Drujon and is happy to make fascinators to order whether its for a prom, special event or even a wedding! They are all based on the 1920's theme but will be expanding to include styles from the 18th century too so keep an eye out. All of the fascinators are hand made and designed so you won't need to worry about having someone else match you!

As you can see from the stunning photo's the unique head pieces come in a range of colours with different flask, material, netting etc. If any of you are interested in making a creation of you're own, see the link at the bottom of the page the 'Crafternoon Tea' where Jillian will be teaching you how to make a stunning headpiece. The event is in London and has a fee which includes materials and one-on-one help from Jillian.

I thought this would be a great blog for all you vintage lovers and possibly some crafty people too!
Don't forget to leave comments, tweet me or Jillian and hopefully have a look at some of the gorgeous head fascinators!

Key accessory - Satchels!

SATCHELS

You've got to love them! Finally the traditional satchel is back into fashion and I for one am LOVING IT! With Cambridge Satchel Company starting a trend on the Google+ advert, satchels appeared in shops ready for this summer. They've come in very colour under the sun, plain black or brown, pastels and the bright neons and also in every size! From the petite, small but beautifully formed, to the statement satchels.

So what can I wear it with?
Anything and everything, it's entirely up to you. Many people think by having a satchel it makes an outfit look very 'office' and 'back to school' looking however I see that a rather preppy! I have one coral small satchel that I'll be wearing in summer with skirts, shorts and dresses but not to forget jeans if the British summer never arrives. My second is a dark brown satchel, a lot like the Mulberry Alexa bag. I find it is always my go to bag that I'm using at the moment however it is a little on the oversized so I'm looking forward to using my smaller coral satchel soon. I think if you're worried it won't go with your outfit, take the colour of the bag for example, a blue, and match a key item of clothing with it to accent
but also tie in the bag such as a jacket, pair of shoes, top or jeans to match well with the bag. Don't be afraid, it's hard to go wrong with a satchel!

If you liked this blog or my others, please be sure to comment, I'll always write back I promise! If you are inspired to buy or already own a satchel, tweet me a photo of your favourite outfit to wear it with and the best outfit will get a prize! More details up soon so be sure to keep on checking @BlogQueen13 and this blog page!

Monochrome, a trend this summer!

So one of the big trends for this summer is MONOCHROME!
You either love it or hate it but I personally think it's a great style. It can look tacky if there is too much in one outfit but wear it well and you'll knock the other girls off their heels. Here are a couple of outfits you can try out from the affordable to a big splash, each item can be paired well with anything and everything so don't feel stuck to only outfit displayed, hope you like this, leave a comment if you do! Also let me know which is your favorite by leaving me a comment or tweeting me @BlogQueen13

Hint of print: One simple monochrome print top can make a simple outfit great for a night out, add a bright pink lip and you're ready to dance the night
away!

Classic court: This outfit is perfect for a posh night out, court visit or special occasion. Jimmy Choo's were designed for an outfit like this.

Add some red: This outfit is perfect for a city visit or day out and about. If the heels are too much, change them to a flat pump or brogue. Retro sunglasses are perfect with the doctor style bag.
Mesh extra's: A plain black skirt and top are basic yet stylish, add a sleeveless white blazer and neon bag, you're ready for any occasion! A nude lip is best suited for this look for a more casual look.

Real Techniques - Blush and stippling brush review

Real Techniques - Blush and stippling brush

Sam Chapman (also known as half of the duo Pixiwoo from YouTube) has created a brilliant range of makeup brushes. Out of the 20 or so brushes I own 8, which is conclusive evidence that these brushes are amazing.
The brushes come in 3 colours, pink - your finish perfected, purple - your eyes enhanced and gold - your base flawless. The two brushes I am reviewing are the blush brush and stippling brush from the pink category, your finish perfected. I am complete ore of these brushes, I find them easy to work with and clean, they store well due to the flat bottom and they are a nice looking brush.

Stippling brush - I use this brush mainly for foundation however is can be used on powder products and cream products to. The brush is really great with building coverage as by stippling, you gain more coverage. It also blends products beautifully, for example your foundation and a cream blusher by making sure you have no harsh lines that you can sometimes get with a flat foundation brush such as the MAC 190 foundation brush. It's a good size as well and so easily packs into my makeup brush when I'm on the go.

Blush brush - I am IN LOVE with this blusher brush! I use my blush brush mainly for powder products because I find cream blushes slightly harder to apply with this brush. I have three of these brushes, one for powder and one for bronzer and the final for blusher. I can easily blend bronzer and blusher together well with this brush and I always know how much I am applying as the white topped bristles make it easy to see. I prefer this brush for blusher to a MAC 116 blusher brush or MAC138 tapered face brush as for my makeup it is less precise and therefore I don't get any harsh blusher lines. For bronzer the brush is definitely better than the MAC 168 angled contour brush however it is easier to contour with a smaller more angled brush. The brush, like I said with the stippling brush, is easy to travel with and super easy to clean...always a bonus!

This brushes retail for £9.99, blusher brush and £10 - £11.99, stippling brush. It may seem like a lot for a brush however for the quality and compared to other brushes these are miles ahead of any others that I have tried! I definitely recommend these brushes for you to try out and let me know what you guys think!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse

So about 2 weeks ago I repurchased Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse in the colour 030 SAND. I had this as my first ever foundation and didn't particularly like it so I thought 4 years on and I might get along better with it. Sadly not! I really don't like this foundation, I think it's clumpy, doesn't give a nice finish and dries my skin out so much.

Compared to other mousse foundations such as the Rimmel Stay Matte or the NYC Smoothing Skin mousse foundations it is really poor. I had this foundation as my first ever beauty buy when I was about 12 and ALL of my friends had it so I wanted to join in on the trend. At the time I thought it was really good, I only used the tiniest amount under my eyes, across my T zone and around my nose. So naturally, I thought it was a great foundation. It was only when I repurchased it about 2 weeks ago I realised I really didn't like this foundation! It really dries out my skin instead of giving me a matte finish and the product started to dry out and crumble the closer I got to the bottom of the pot.

The finish obviously like I said it supposed to be matte which it was but I don't think it gave me the best coverage. I thought it would be a medium coverage when applying with a sponge but I found that it was a light coverage but still made my skin look like I was wearing lots of thick foundation so I had to use small amounts for a full face of foundation but my skin still looked quite dry and not as healthy as it should.

Overall I really don't like this product, I'm glad I repurchased it to make a full review on whether or not I like it but it's official, I don't! I don't think this product deserves all the hype it gets, I think there are definitely other foundations that give a better finish and work well with my skin type. A bit of a disappointment!
